hate to love: stages of media acceptance

Stage 1, first watch/listen: wtf-smilie I.. hate this. I think? But for some reason, I’m still drawn to it. I’ll be open-minded.

Stage 2, once or twice more: wtf-smilie-2 …still don’t know ’bout this one…

Stage 3, a few more times: confused-smilie It’s growing on me. Hope no one else can see…

Stage 4, bunch more: cool-face-smilie You know what this is so bad it’s good, I’ll keep it! …hidden.

Stage 5, long time later: excited-smilie I legitimately love this, without irony or apology. Hey you! You gotta see this– you don’t love it too?! Pfft, plebe. Philistine. Profligate.

A few songs and bands wherein this one went through these stages:

This one is a live-alone, full-time burger-flipper with an odd mind and too much to say. ma'hab always tries the best ma'hab can to keep up: • Chores • Bodybuilding and other health-nuttery • Japanese language studies • Culinary experimentation (see “other health-nuttery”) • Exploration of newfound spiritual territory • Exploration of my Self • Figuring out how to socialize well enough, mostly face-to-face • Backlogs: books, heavy metal, anime • Blogging, chatting, texting, and talking to whomever will listen about all of the above
