(Yes, this one’s counter is filthy and unorganized.)

Each was 1 gallon skim milk and 1 cup plain, fat-free Greek yogurt and roughly followed from a friend on S4H:

Oh, and the recipe for those who don’t want to wade through all of the unnecessary text in the link:

1) Put 1 gallon of milk in Crock Pot and heat to 180 degrees (2-3 hours)
2) Allow milk to cool to 110 degrees (2-3 hours)
3) Mix 1 cup of starter yogurt (plain, with live cultures) into the milk.
4) Wrap Crock Pot in towel and let sit for 10-12 hours.
5) Strain the produced yogurt to your desired thickness.

As mentioned above, this should yield about 8 cups.

Ending up maybe $3.25 for each of those ($2 milk, $1.25 1 cup yogurt) instead of $5 for… a lot less than you see in one of the above crock pots.

This will $ave ma’habo much in the future! He loves his Greek yogurt!

This one chose not to use a cheese cloth so it is rather liquidy. Fine by ma’hab, he LIKES his protein! (A good friend on S4H informs that the whey is mostly carbs.. eh, next batch can be leaner.) And he can always toss in a tbsp or two of chia (and 1-2 packets stevia and 1 tsp raw cacao) when it’s snack time.

Anyone who says healthy food is terrible for the tongue is ignorant, spreading lies to sell pre-made “health food” junk food, and/or sucks at cooking.
